UNDER CONSTRUCTION

I’ll be updating my website and changing the design a bit so pardon the maintenance!

Pointy Ear

Pointy Ear, oil on muslin mounted to panel, 2013. This is a painting I finished a few months ago of my ear. (That point on the end is called a “Darwin’s Tubercle.”)

Painting on Metrocard

I have a small, itty bitty piece in Single Fare 3 in RH Gallery in New York.  The show has a really neat idea – all work had to be on used NY metrocards. So, naturally, I painted….Legos! There were over 2500 pieces with work from Alyssa Monks, Brad Kunkle, and Alex Kanevsky amongst many others.

For Your Viewing Pleasure, oil on canvas mounted to panel, 2013. I thought I’d start the New Year off with a Self-Portrait!

At the Drive-In

Excited to finally be finished with this new painting! I’ve been working on it on and off for several months. It’s headed to the Supersonic Electronic Invitational in San Francisco for their January show at Spoke Art. It’s called “At the Drive In” and is oil on canvas. It’s inspired by my love of watching 2001: A Space Odyssey as a kid on VHS and not really understanding what in the world was going on… Hope you like!

Rush Hour painting

This is a new painting from grad school! One of the first I finished. It’s called Rush Hour and is oil on canvas, mounted to panel. It’ll be on view with two other small paintings at Elisa Contemporary Gallery in NY during the holiday season as part of their “Toy Story” exhibit. If you’re in that area, check it out!

Lamar Dood Ranch Open House, Yeehaw!

A week or two ago us grad painters at UGA Lamar Dodd School of Art got together and had an Open House and Open Studios for the public to see our digs and artwork. We had an awesome turn out and had a great time shootin up the place in true cowboy style! Yeehaw! (I’m fourth from the left.)

New blog!

Me and my fellow grad painters at UGA have a new tumblr page! Follow us! It features and highlights our work and things going on in the program.

I’ve been working on some drawings lately for my Graduate Drawing class. It’s been so long since I’ve actually drawn. So it’s nice to get back into it. This piece is charcoal and spray paint. It’s based on the slinky form.
